New and Improved LEA MOE Calculator 2.0 Demonstration

This webinar showcased the newest version of CIFR’s most popular tool, the LEA MOE Calculator. Attendees participated in a demo of the new tool and heard from CIFR staff about the newest features and some tips and tricks to make entering data easier. Participants were encouraged to download the tool in advance so they could follow along with the demo. This webinar was intended for both SEA staff who are new to the LEA MOE Calculator and SEA staff who are users of prior versions of the Calculator.

CIFR 2021 Open Door Session: Part B Maintenance of State Financial Support (MFS)

CIFR held an Open Door session on MFS and anticipated COVID-19 implications as a follow up to the February 5th webinar on MFS. SEA staff had the opportunity to ask questions and share their knowledge and common challenges with CIFR content experts and their state counterparts.

CIFR 2021 Fiscal Webinar: Part B LEA MOE Fiscal Requirements and COVID-19 Implications

This webinar examined the critical features of the maintenance of effort (MOE) fiscal requirements, and discussed the challenges expected or experienced by LEAs in meeting MOE due to budget cuts and other factors related to the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition, we reviewed LEA MOE tools co-developed by CIFR, the IDEA Data Center (IDC) and the National Center for Systemic Improvement (NCSI).

CIFR also held a follow up Open Door session to further discuss the anticipated impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on LEA MOE. SEA staff had the opportunity to share their knowledge and common challenges with CIFR content experts and their states’ counterparts.

This webinar provided insights into the MOE Reduction and CEIS data collection and reporting requirements. Participants learned about the general requirements and explored the challenges expected or experienced by LEAs including those emerging from the COVID-19 pandemic, in collecting the required data to meet reporting deadlines.

CIFR 2021 Fiscal Webinar: Part B Fiscal Processes and Timelines

This series is specifically designed to offer SEA Part B fiscal staff foundational knowledge on IDEA fiscal topics and help them navigate many IDEA fiscal data collection and reporting requirements. The series will be held several times during 2021 and will provide a review of IDEA fiscal processes to be completed throughout the year with their respective timelines. Each webinar will look in-depth at a selected topic, will be facilitated by CIFR fiscal experts, and give SEA staff an opportunity to share their knowledge and experience with their state peers.

Session 1 Description

CIFR’s 2021 Part B Fiscal Webinar Series will kick off on February 5 from 2:00-3:00 PM ET.

This first session reviewed IDEA fiscal processes that SEAs typically complete from January through March, using the IDEA Fiscal Timeline Tool co-developed by CIFR, the IDEA Data Center (IDC) and the National Center for Systemic Improvement (NCSI). CIFR staff examined the critical features of the maintenance of state financial support (MFS) fiscal requirement, and discussed the challenges expected or experienced by states in meeting MFS due to budget cuts and other factors related to the COVID-19 pandemic.
