Video Transcript: What to Expect at CIFR’s 2024 Part B IDEA Fiscal Forum

NARRATOR:
The Center for IDEA Fiscal Reporting. Meet us in Denver! What to expect at CIFR’s 2024 part B IDEA Fiscal Forum.

MARI MATHEWS, CIFR PART B TA TEAM CO-LEAD:
really a chance for dates to come together with their peers, OSEP and TA providers both from CIFR as well as other TA centers.

ELENA LINCOLN, CIFR PART B TA LIAISON:
To learn together, collaborate together, and I think maybe even think about what’s next for IDEA Fiscal, what’s next for their state.

DANIELLE CRAIN, CIFR PART B TA LIAISON:
For SEAs to take a deep dive into CIFR’s five areas of work, which include allocations, state set-aside, MFS, CEIS, and LEA MOE.

TEXT ON SCREEN:

  • Allocations
  • State Set-aside
  • Maintenance of State Financial Support (MFS)
  • Coordinated Early Intervening Services (CEIS)
  • Local Educational Agency (LEA) Maintenance of Effort (MOE)

MARI MATHEWS:
That includes date panels, hearing from your peers directly, being able to ask questions, engaging in interactive activities through real-time problem-solving.

DANIELLE CRAIN:
We are going to have a basic session that goes over the basics of all five of our work scopes to have everyone on the same playing field as they go throughout the session.

ELENA LINCOLN:
I’m excited about being able to host one session, a panel of state leaders talking about how they leverage fiscal funds to drive improvement and accomplish results for kids with disabilities.

MARI MATHEWS:
The theme of this conference is purpose-driven data, putting the why into fiscal processes, how to leverage and effectively use that data to help inform decisions related to our policy, strategies, procedures, the technical assistance that we provide to our LEAs to help meet IDEA requirements and ultimately to improve outcomes for students with disabilities.

DANIELLE CRAIN:
Think beyond compliance and how they can use their data when moving forward when making policy decisions.

ELENA LINCOLN:
You’ll see evidence of this theme throughout the agenda with sessions around data use and analysis, as well as sessions on writing fiscal procedures and thinking about your process and working to identify ways to improve your procedures within your state.

MARI MATHEWS:
We’ve not been able to hold a face-to-face IFF since 2018, so we’re really looking forward to hosting everybody in Denver to see some familiar faces as well as a lot of new faces that we’ve only been able to engage with through virtual meeting spaces.

NARRATOR:
If you have any questions about CIFR’s 2024 part B IFF, please contact us at [email protected].
