The IDEA Fiscal Forum (IFF) provides opportunities for state directors of special education and state IDEA fiscal specialists to build knowledge and capacity by connecting and sharing with peers on critical IDEA fiscal issues.

CIFR invites state directors of special education and IDEA state fiscal staff to join us in Kansas City this September. The conference theme is Coherence in Action: Coordinating Part B Fiscal Systems for Impact. The event is an opportunity for state staff and technical assistance providers to share expertise and learn from one another.

Begins: 9 a.m., Tuesday, September 1
Ends: 12 p.m., Thursday, September 3
Location: The Westin Kansas City at Crown Center, 1 E Pershing Rd, Kansas City, MO 64108

Part B IFF 2026 participants will:

  • learn strategies to strengthen implementation of IDEA fiscal requirements,
  • enhance their state’s capacity to collect, report, and use special education fiscal data, and
  • collaborate with colleagues within and across states to support continued learning.

AGENDA

REGISTRATION

Registration is free, but space is limited. To encourage participation and collaboration from all states, CIFR will arrange and pay for lodging for two people with IDEA fiscal responsibilities per state. Please coordinate with your state director to determine who the lodging should cover.

NOTE: At this time, the number of registrants per state is capped at two to provide all states an equal opportunity to attend. IDEA fiscal staff from any state that wants to send and pay for more participants should register to be added to the waitlist. If their registration is accepted, CIFR will send an email confirmation by June 24. Lodging will be the responsibility of the waitlisted registrants.
