Updated CEIS Tracker Improves State and LEA Utility

July 17, 2019

As fiscal specialists, you may already be familiar with the CEIS Fiscal and Student Data Tracker, developed by IDC and CIFR to help states report high-quality data needed to implement and report on CEIS in accordance with IDEA regulations. The Tracker allows users to collect data, across years, on whether an LEA provided CEIS and whether the provision was voluntary or comprehensive, amounts of IDEA funds reserved and expended, students receiving CEIS, and if and when those children are found eligible for special education and related services.

Now, in this June 2019 update, users can aggregate LEA-level CEIS data to the state level within the Tracker. Further, the LEA-level tool was revised to allow users to identify areas of significant disproportionality requiring CEIS spending and to track funds used for professional development activities.
