Clear documentation facilitates consistent practice over time, encourages communication within and among state agencies, and supports the reporting of valid and reliable data. Developing Written Procedures for Maintenance of State Financial Support includes recommended components of procedures, questions to guide their development, and sample language for states to adapt.
The practice guide is the second in a series aimed at assisting states with developing and reviewing written fiscal procedures. The first guide addresses procedures for the allocation of IDEA Part B subgrants, and the third, forthcoming this fall, will focus on LEA MOE.
